The "Hooters" in Nottingham, England, is the most famous and currently the only restaurant of the American chain Hooters in the United Kingdom, which has played a significant role in the British dining scene since its opening in 1998. Originally started at a different location, it later moved to a larger building and has established itself near the city center of Nottingham, a city known for its Robin Hood legend. The restaurant attracts a diverse clientele—from sports fans to families to groups seeking an unconventional atmosphere—and is particularly known for its American sports bar aesthetic and the famous "Hooters Girls," who serve in white tank tops and orange shorts.

The decor features large screens that regularly showcase sports broadcasts, neon lights, and an open kitchen that provides a view of the food preparation. The space is spacious and accommodates many guests, with the atmosphere becoming especially electrifying on weekends or during major sporting events such as football or boxing matches. There is also an outdoor area that offers additional seating when the weather is nice, as well as limited parking available on-site, which is convenient for visitors arriving by car. The restaurant's concept combines food, entertainment, and a laid-back vibe reminiscent of American diners, but with a distinctive Hooters twist.

Best chicken wings Nottingham restaurant

Culinary-wise, "Hooters" in Nottingham represents classic American cuisine with an emphasis on hearty, fried dishes. The legendary chicken wings are the hallmark—particularly the Daytona Beach Wings, which are coated in a spicy, slightly sweet sauce and appreciated for their crispy texture. The juicy ribs, served with a smoky BBQ glaze, are also quite popular and pair perfectly with the homemade curly fries. For burger fans, there’s the Western BBQ Burger, which is topped with onion rings and a spicy sauce. Besides meat dishes, the restaurant also offers options like crisp salads or seafood, which provide a lighter alternative. The drink menu is extensive, featuring a wide selection of beers—both on tap and in bottles—and cocktails that pair well with the food.

"Hooters" places a strong emphasis on service, with the "Hooters Girls" not only serving but also being part of the experience. The staff is known to be friendly and approachable, often with a wink and a touch of humor that fits the brand. Especially on days with promotions like "All You Can Eat Wings" or during happy hour, the restaurant becomes a hotspot for groups looking to get the most out of their food and drinks. It is also a popular venue for celebrations such as bachelor parties, where the relaxed atmosphere and entertainment are the main focus. Families are also made to feel welcome, with kid-friendly options and an informal ambiance.

Try to come here whenever passing Nottingham as love the boneless wings and Tots. Not been for a while and won't be rushing back. Was very disappointed this time, wings were extremely dry, tatsed like they'd been refried and in dirty oil. The portion of tots seemed tiny, more sauce than tots. After ordering, noticed a sticker had been strategically placed over the "our wings are made fresh, never frozen" quote on the menu which may explain the poor quality. Service was mediocre compared to previous visits. Maybe the 12.5% surcharge on the bill stops people tipping for good service meaning the servers don't try anymore. Such a shame as it used to be amazing

Love the food here and all staff are brilliant, Morgan was our waitress and even at a distance kept looking over to make sure we were OK and needed anything else. Just me and the misses this time but the kids like the food here too. Christmas party time and looked great, wish we lived closer to enjoy that 🥳

Not a place we would choose to go, but we were part of the group. Vegan burger with mountain vegan patty was an only vegan option and it was so dry. Apparently hooters can't afford any vegan sauces. Pathetic place and food.

Very slow service, wings were not nice at all. Went for the all you can eat wings on Monday. Lots of waiting around for service, very slow. Only two waitresses on duty that I could tell, probably lying 30-40 customers. Wings tasted old, first round was also Luke warm.

The boneless chicken wings were way overcooked. Took forever for the food to come out. The nacho chips were all broken. Worst meal I have ever had there.Wont be going back any time soon.

I loved the food, but I think we got missed as we didn't have a consistent waitress. We were waiting to pay the bill for over an hour, and it was not that busy. The waitresses themselves were absolutely lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. I thought that the atmosphere between staff was not the best, the kitchen were arguing and berating waiting staff loudly for all customers to see.

When we arrived the guy greeting us was very laid back and pretty unbothered that we had a booking. He seated us seemingly reluctantly and then we waited around 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks orders and another 15 minutes after that for someone to take our food orders. We then waited over an hour for our food, which was served by someone asking every table if they’d ordered it, and it eventually arrived at us. The wings were completely cold and the Parmesan and garlic wings had no seasoning on. Once we caught someone’s attention the food was replaced quickly and the new food was fine. The servers were very attentive and lovely - after we’d finally got our replaced food. It then took half an hour to catch someone’s attention to ask for the bill and to then wait to pay. It was not a good experience at all although the servers seemed to be doing their best. Although the atmosphere was fun, it was tainted by the extremely shouty kitchen staff :(. When we ordered another beer and tap water, the server said she wouldn’t add it to our bill, which is great but water is free anyway… so we paid full price other than £6 for 2 hours of waiting and cold food.

Food was very good, decent sized portions, very good temperature and reasonably priced, including the drinks. I had Cajun boneless wings with curly fries, although some of the burgers coming out looked very appealing. Couple of different sports channels on the vast amount of tv’s and a mix of family and groups with lots of seating and space. Staff we spoke with were the opposite of the food, very miserable, rude and ill-mannered, except for the door host, she was the standout at approaching us, getting us a table, cleaning it and assisting us at the start, shame some of her colleagues are the slight opposite. The doorman was a bit of an anker though, clearly felt like letting just two of us in was an absolute chore, lying to us and telling us we couldn’t get food, despite the opposite as soon as we passed him, I did see the doorman walking around the venue several times too, and at one point it seemed he was just pestering one or two of the staff who didn’t have time or the interest in speaking with him, especially the door host when he was just following her and it seemed she just wanted to get away from him. Maybe that’s why the staff we dealt with were how they are, sick of the unwanted or unwelcome behaviour from some, and unfortunately tar everyone with the same brush, I don’t condone it but given the theme of their job and venue, I suspect it may unfortunately happen a bit. If I was in Nottingham again I’d go back for the food, drink and sports on tv, but If there’s anything similar in food and entertainment I’d happily try that first!

Food was divine. Waitresses were sublime. I’d rate it a nine.
